Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. In her early years she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in many Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the roles of the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The most successful film of 2001 it set new records in its first day sales as well as its opening weekend earnings. Reviewers were awed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later in the film.
